Developmental Editing (Big Stuff)
Developmental editing focuses on plot, pacing, character development, the narrative arc—you know, the overall structure and style of your manuscript. After developmental editing, your manuscript might change substantially.
Copy Editing (Small Stuff)
Copy editing focuses on correcting spelling, usage, grammar, and punctuation, improving style, addressing inconsistencies, simplifying complex passages, and rearranging content. Think about it as fine-tuning your manuscript.
Manuscript Review (A Professional Book Report)
A manuscript review is a detailed report that explains the overall strengths and weaknesses of your story and helps you develop a strategy for revision. This option may be helpful for people who know their manuscript needs work but (for whatever reason) may not be interested in a full developmental edit.
